Manitoulin Snowdusters Club Inc.

The Manitoulin Snowdusters Club Inc. is a volunteer based club, and they are very proud of their trail system; There are 545 km of groomed, signed trails reaching all areas of the Manitoulin, which tie into the provincial trail plan.

The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) honoured Manitoulin Snowdusters in 2001 by awarding them the honour of “Club of the Year for 2001.” The award is given out annually to recognize exceptional effort and achievements of the possible 270 plus clubs who are eligible for this award.

President Bert Woestenenk received nomination of volunteer of the year from club members for 2006.

Riding our trails on and around the Manitoulin you will see the beautiful LaCloche mountain chain, many frozen lakes and rivers and often you will see white tailed deer in their yards.

Our club volunteers have worked hard over the years to create a safe land based trail system across the Manitoulin taking the trails close to many of the quaint towns and villages on the Island.

Kevin McSheffrey of Trail Rider Magazine in Elliot Lake has commented on our trails by saying “many said the trails were great, but they didn’t say that they were THIS great!"

Craig Nicholson (known as the Intrepid Snowmobiler) stated in an article he wrote for Ontario Snowmobiler magazine entitled “Circling Central Ontario” stated, “If I had to choose the most memorable trail from among the many exceptional ones we rode on this tour, those on the Manitoulin Island would rank high. The deer sightings, the superb views of the North Channel and the variety of terrain make Manitoulin a must-visit destination.”
The Manitoulin Snowdusters have been a member of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) since 1978, and are a part of the Rainbow Country Snowmobile Association, which is a cooperation, and association of our neighbouring snowmobile clubs, Massey, Nairn Wolverines, Espanola and Killarney clubs. Together they have 1162 km of groomed trails.
The Snowdusters are continuing their efforts to improve trails and signage on the trails and encourage all snowmobilers to ride safe.
There are several fundraising activities held throughout the year, and the Manitoulin Snowdusters meet the first Wednesday of each month from October to June at Charles C. McLean school in Gore Bay room 12. Most inquiries are handled by Secretary Treasurer Betty Heis.

All interested snowmobilers are welcome and encouraged to attend our meetings.
